Iran’s culture minister: Al-Mayadeen journalists martyred while serving voice of oppressed

Iran’s Minister of Culture has extended condolences to the media community following the martyrdom of journalists in recent Israeli regime attacks on Lebanon, expressing hope that the path blazed by the fallen correspondents will give rise to thousands more media outlets dedicated to the cause of resistance.

Hawzah News Agency- In an interview with Lebanon’s Al-Manar television network, Seyyed Abbas Salehi paid tribute to the network’s cameraman Ali Shoaib and Al-Mayadeen journalist Fatima Fotouni, both martyred in Israeli strikes.

“Media professionals who stand with the resistance entered this path fully aware of its ultimate sacrifice—martyrdom in service of giving voice to the oppression of people suffering under the Zionist regime,” Salehi said.

“We hope that along the path these martyrs began, and through the blood they shed, thousands of new journalists and media platforms will emerge to convey the voice of resistance,” he added.

The minister underscored that the media serve as the tongue of nations, with journalists representing the voice of the people. “In all conflicts, journalists constitute a red line because they carry the voices of nations, making it imperative that those voices be preserved,” he stated.

Salehi condemned the Israeli regime for disregarding all ethical and humanitarian red lines throughout its occupation of Al-Quds. “The children martyred in Gaza and Palestine are a manifestation of this behavior,” he said.

“Today, the martyrdom of our beloved journalists adds yet another chapter to the extensive record of the Zionist regime’s oppression and criminality,” Salehi continued. “These individuals were engaged in nothing but their profession, dedicating their efforts to conveying the voice of the region’s oppressed people.”

Asserting that the voice of nations cannot be silenced, the culture minister maintained: “The Zionist regime may martyr journalists and destroy media centers with bombs, but nations will convey their voices through other means. New journalists will emerge, taking up pens and cameras to continue documenting the oppression endured by the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, and all nations who have suffered under the tyranny and crimes of the Zionist regime over the past 70 to 90 years.”

He concluded: “The future of the world will be a future without the Zionist regime—a future of peace, justice, and the peaceful coexistence of nations.”
